PS Plus Extra Adds 17 New Games Today

PS Plus Extra Adds 17 New Games Today

Sony’s PlayStation Plus Extra tier adds 17 new games to the service on December 20, including popular entries in a couple of AAA franchises.

Today, December 20, is the latest drop for PS Plus Extra games, with 17 new games being added to the service. Fans have already been able to claim the PS Plus free games for December 2022, which include Mass Effect: Legendary Edition as a headliner, and it seems clear that the Extra games match this tier in terms of quality.

Fans will be able to claim the following games as long as they remain in the library, and as long as the PS Plus Extra subscriber maintains their subscription. Furthermore, beyond these new additions, fans can expect to learn more about the games coming in January 2023 sometime later this month.

PS Plus Extra Far Cry Games

  • Far Cry 5
  • Far Cry New Dawn
  • Far Cry Primal
  • Mortal Shell
  • Judgment
  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon
  • Yakuza 6: The Song of Life
  • Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
  • Middle-Earth: Shadow of War
  • The Pedestrian
  • Evil Genius 2
  • Adventure Time Pirates of the Enchiridion
  • Ben 10: Power Trip
  • Gigantosaurus The Game
  • Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire – Ultimate Edition

  • The Escapists 2

It’s an impressive lineup representing major AAA franchises, like the Middle-Earth series, a couple of Yakuza games and a spin-off in Judgment, and three Far Cry games. However, there are some great smaller games to complement these as well. Mortal Shell is a solid Soulslike title, The Pedestrian is easy to get trophies on, and Pillars of Eternity 2 is an Obsidian Entertainment game.

Of course, PS Plus Extra and Premium are relatively new additions to the overarching service. Fans can expect some changes next year as they settle in, and one thing fans can already see potentially happening is more games leaving the service. As it stands, fans will probably see a number of additions that outpace removals every month, but just for one example, four games are leaving PS Plus Extra in January 2023: Bound by Flame, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom, The Council – The Complete Season, and Space Hulk: Tactics.

PS Plus subscribers get a handful of games every month.
